Certified Restorer logoThe Certified Restorer certification program is an intensive study in damage repair, offered to contractors and restorers. The program's objective is to raise committed restorers to a master's level of professional ability. The program of study addresses both buildings and personal property, and is based on the structure and nature of materials, with the effects of various perils. Restoration theory addresses the mechanisms by which residue odors are removed, and covers toxic contamination, allergic response, water damage, contracts and insurance.

ASD The Applied Structure Drying designation course focuses on the psychrometry of drying using the top down drying method, low grain dehumidifiers, desiccant dehumidifiers, and positive pressure drying methods. Significant gains have been made with these less destructive methods, compared to the old bash and trash methods.

MRS The Mold Remediation Specialist is the second highest designation offered through the RIA in the mold remediation field. There are two timed tests, each of which requires an 80% or better score for passage. The program's objective is to ensure the technician's ability to determine and mitigate potential safety issues with the dwelling and the public.

Certification in Carpet and Upholstery cleaning through IRCRC. Covers dry cleaning and wet cleaning methods, proper removal of stains, and application of protective coatings.

Asbestos Contractor Supervisor designation consists of reviewing health concerns, diseases, areas of exposure, containment barriers, and remediation procedures. Course includes discussion of Mesothelioma, White Lung Disease, and possible cancers that may be affiliated with asbestos exposure.

Lead Contractor Supervisor designation consists of reviewing health concerns, diseases, areas of exposure, containment barriers, and remediation procedures. Course includes discussion of possible birth defects, latency periods, and warning signs of exposure.
